Another WT lie from Ground Zero..
by Patriot ini have been very busy lately but i had to stop for a few and write this.. it is beyond me why the wts has the need to not only lie but to keep making stuff up as they go along.
the latest being an experience related to the jws at my local hall (a friend of mine who still goes told me).
was visiting this week and related the following account:.

And the Witnesses preached.
Ummmm, excuse me Band on the Run... I distinctly remember hearing how Bethelites handed out bottled water and literature to people fleeing towards the Brooklyn Bridge. Truly life-saving work, indeed.

Professor Falcon Asks: Why Such Variety in Religion?
by Mr. Falcon inif i remember correctly, the current watchtower teaching claims that the reason why there is such a diversity of religion today is due to the incident at the tower of babel.
upon confusing their languages, yahweh scattered them abroad and consequentaly they carried off with them a variety of "false religious beliefs and practices".. i would like to hear your thoughts on this.
is there archeological evidence to support this?

Mr. Falcon
unshackled, Dawkins is dropping freight train loads of logic on my JW-scrambled brain. I love it.
I agree with you on the BS of the Babel incident. If that was were all ancient religion was manifested, than why does the archeological record (as you've mentioned) show otherwise? Does not compute.

Watchtower baptizing young children
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower baptizing young children.
today i uploaded a new article to my blog addressing further the subject of watchtower and baptism of young children.
the sweet little boy youll see in this blog article had no capacity whatsoever to understand the commitment he would be held to.

Miz, I've personally known of girls and boys who got baptized at VERY young ages and climbed the ranks of pioneer, special pioneer, blah-blah-blah. And guess what? All of them have left the "Truth." Riddle me that, Batman.

Blondie, I've heard that one before. But it doesn't say that Samuel went by himself and made a sacrafice all by himself. So that elder needs to pick a better example. Have you also heard the one about Timothy? Well, Timothy was spiritual at a young age. True, but according to the context of the Bible, he must have been no younger than 20 (probably much older, but I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt). So he was at least a young MAN before making such a commitment to Christianity. Again, that example holds no water.
We have to face this fact: Baptism of children is just as immoral/pointless/futile as baptism of infants. And while I don't agree with Catholiscm, I don't think it's fair to Catholics when JWs blast them for infant baptism.

Great points, everyone. They should have set this "experience" to happen some months or a year or two after 9/11. NOT 3 WEEKS AFTER THE ATTACK. That soon after the attacks, downtown Manhatten was still practically under martial law not to mention construction and recovery operations still had 99% of Ground Zero off limits to civilians. And I hope those JWs who supposidly were granted "special" access to Ground Zero were OSHA HAZMAT trained and equipped to enter such a still smoldering and contaminated disaster site (body parts, underground fires, gas buildup, crushed and open sewer lines, unstable structural wreckage.....). That stuff wasn't cleaned up in just a month.
And the JWs listening to this experience just lap this horse-dung up.
"Well I'll be damned. According to this Recommendation Card, you JWs really are OSHA-certified."

Wow, I was just thinking about this on my lunch break. JWs attack the notion of infant baptism and then turn around and let children 10 or younger get baptized!
SD-7 is right. It is preposterous to think that a child that young can comprehend the weight of the decision to get baptized as a member of the Jehovah's Witness organization. After all isn't that supposed to be the most important decision in their lives?
I once saw a 9 year old girl get dunked. Surely, if she is mature enough to make such a monumental decision, nobody should think it weird if she decided to get married before her 10th birthday. And clearly the 6 year old who SD-7 saw get baptized should also be given a driver's license and a firearm. Why not? If they can get baptized, than I can't think of a good arguement against letting these children have these other things.
It seems a tad bit cultish. Yes, yes?

Why do Jehovahs Witnesses send their mentally ill door to door?
by life is to short inthis has been a question i have asked over and over even when i was a very devout jw.
please do not get me wrong in thinking that i am trying to be mean or cruel or unkind to those who have mental illness, that is not in the least where i am going with this.
what i mean is i think it is cruel to send them door to door, it puts way to much stress on them and it looks bad for the name jehovah.. it seemed that in every hall i have ever been in there were some people who were extremely mentally ill. there have always been some in every hall who were schizophrenics or suffered major depression, or other forms of mental illness.

People who Knock on your door to Threaten your Life..Are not normal..
JW`s do it every week..And..
Attend 5 meetings a week to learn how to threaten more effectivly..
Outlaw, I must admit that I never thought of it like this..... brilliant. I'm going to explain this one to Mrs. Falcon. I'll send you a royalty check.

They already had the ideas. Because of the language mix-up, they traveled. When they traveled, their ideas went with them.
Okay, now I dig what you're saying. What inspired this thread was that I'm currently reading The God Delusion and I'm at the part where Dawkins is hypothesizing on the origins and variety of religious beliefs. And it got me thinking about the WTBS's explanation for this.
